Monday, May 18 – At 9:12 p.m. Lake County Sheriff’s Office assisted Lakeview Police with the arrest of Robert L. Graham, 28, of Lakeview. Graham was arrested for an outstanding Lake County Felony Warrant.
Wednesday, May 20 – At 8:38 p.m., the Lakeview Police Department responded to the report of a domestic assault at 1032 Linda Ln. Wendy Hilbert was arrested for Assault IV Domestic Violence.
Wednesday, May 20 – At 5:55 p.m., the Lakeview Police Department responded to the report of an assault that had just taken place at the 600 block of North H Street. After an investigation was complete Kimberly Dawn Cousyn was arrested for Assault, DUII and Reckless Endangering x2.

The charge stemmed from an incident on or about March 27 when the defendant did unlawfully and knowingly possess morphine, a schedule II controlled substance. Count two was for unlawful manufacturing/delivery of a schedule II controlled substance. The charge stemmed from an incident on or about March 27 when the defendant did unlawfully and knowingly manufacture/deliver morphine, a schedule II controlled substance. Count three was for supplying contraband. The charge stemmed from an incident on or about March 27 when the defendant did unlawfully and knowingly introduce morphine, contraband, into Warner Creek Correctional Facility.
On Tuesday, May 5, Chad R. Brown was indicted by a Lake County Grand Jury on three counts. Count one was for unlawful delivery of oxycodone. The charge stemmed from an incident on or about March 16 when the defendant unlawfully and knowingly delivered oxycodone, a controlled substance. Count two was for unlawful possession of oxycodone. The charge stemmed from an incident on or about March 16 when the defendant unlawfully and knowingly possessed oxycodone, a substance. Count three was for unlawful possession of hydrocodone. The charge stemmed from an incident on or about March 16 when the defendant unlawfully and knowingly possess hydrocodone, a controlled substance.
On Tuesday, May 5, James R. Jones was indicted by a Lake County Grand Jury on one count of unlawful possession of marijuana. The charge stemmed on or about March 16 when the defendant unlawfully and knowingly possessed marijuana in a quantity exceeding four ounces.
On Tuesday, May 5, Gary S. Beck was indicted by a Lake County Grand Jury on two counts. Count one was for unlawful possession of methamphetamine. The charge stemmed from an incident on or about April 20 when the defendant, acting together with Karen Hott, unlawfully and knowingly possess methamphetamine. Count two was for laundering a monetary instrument. The charge stemmed from an incident when the defendant knowingly transported funds, to wit: $5,000 cash with the intent to promote the carrying on of unlawful activity, to wit: possession and delivery of over four ounces of marijuana.
On Tuesday, May 5, Karen L. Hott was indicted by a Lake County Grand Jury on one count of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. The charge stemmed from an incident on or about April 20 when the defendant, acting together with Gary Beck, did unlawfully and knowingly possessed methamphetamine.

Friday, May 29 – Lakeview Police Department arrested James Prestwood on an outstanding Lake County warrant.

Tuesday, May 26- Deputies responded to the Plush Cutoff Road regarding a motorcycle VS: deer accident. The investigation revealed the motorcycle was traveling W/B on the Plush cutoff Road approximately 8 miles west of Plush when the motorcycle struck one of several deer that had darted out into the roadway. The driver lost control of the motorcycle and as a result sustained fatal injuries. The driver was identified as a Plush resident approximately 58 years of age. Investigation was conducted by the Oregon State Police and assisted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Thursday, May 28 – Deputies responded to 13000 block of West Side Road regarding an accidental shooting. The investigation revealed that a 56 year old Lakeview resident had been shooting ground squirrels with a .22 cal pistol. As the shooter left his position and began walking to another location the pistol discharged striking the shooter in the right thigh. The shooter was transported to Lake District Hospital where he was treated and released for the gunshot wound.
Over the Memorial Day weekend deputies of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office worked a special emphasis in the sand dunes of Christmas Valley. There were hundreds of ATVers and numerous contacts were made with the operators of recreational vehicles. Of all the contacts made there were no citations issued and no serious injuries reported involving negligent or reckless driving. The Sheriff’s Office is happy to report that the overall conduct in the sand dunes was responsible, respectable and well mannered. The Sheriff’s Office would like to extend our gratitude to all recreationists who participated in the Memorial Day weekend event. Your cooperation was paramount in making the weekend a successful event.

Tuesday, May 26 – At 6:22 a.m. Douglas Bruce Clause, 64, was traveling south on the Plush Cutoff road. His vehicle struck a deer. The driver was found deceased at the scene.
Saturday, May 30 – Malissa Deidrich, 27 of Lakeview, was charged with littering, illegal dumping.

Tuesday, June 2 – At 4:26 a.m. Allison Bettencourt, 48, was northbound on Hwy 395 near MP 147 when she drifted onto the east shoulder, overcorrected and rolled several times. Lakeview Towing removed the vehicle.
Tuesday, June 2 – At 10:56 a.m., Bodhi Thiel, 35 of Cookeville, Tenn., was stopped for a traffic violation. Several drug trafficking indicators were present. A probable cause search resulted in the discovery of 62 pounds of marijuana. He was subsequently lodged in the Lake County Jail for PCS-Marijuana and DCS-Marijuana. Lakeview Auto towed the vehicle.
Wednesday, June 3 – 11:54 a.m., Denise Francine Larsh, 37 of Lakeview, was stopped for a traffic violation. She was subsequently arrested for PCS-Meth. Other charges pending district attorney review. Hall Motor Company towed the vehicle. Department of Human Services removed a five year old child from the traffic stop.

Lake County Sheriff’s Department
Friday, May 15 – Deputies received information that a couple previously involved in a violent domestic disturbance in Grant County and subject of a court no contact order were now together and hiding in Paisley. Although the male involved was not at the location when law enforcement arrived, the investigation established the violation of the court order had occurred. Due to controlled substances in the home and other circumstances involving the safety of several children, the young children were taken into custody while the investigation continued. Controlled substances were subsequently discovered in the children’s diaper bag. While an arrest was being coordinated the suspects fled Lake County. Arrest warrants are being requested for multiple jurisdictions. Investigation is ongoing and the children remain in protective custody.
Thursday, May 21 – North County Sheriff’s Deputies began a joint investigation with the US Forest Service Law Enforcement in Deschutes National Forest in regards to a burglary at the Cabin Lake Guard Station just north of Fort Rock. One of the specific items stolen was a Kohler Generator mounted on a single axle trailer, the generator is valued at approximately $15,000. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is asking for information involving the theft of the generator to be reported to the Sheriff’s Office immediately. Investigation is ongoing.
Tuesday, May 26 – North County Deputies initiated an investigation involving stolen prescription medications from the Christmas Valley post office. The medication was inadvertently left on the counter and was missing shortly after the owner’s return to the post office. Anyone with knowledge pertaining to this theft is urged to telephone the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The loss is valued at approximately $400. Investigation is ongoing.
Thursday, June 4 – Deputies were summoned to the south hallway of the Courthouse to assist the court bailiff with an individual who had outstanding warrants. When the subject was approached by Deputies he broke and ran resulting in a foot pursuit. The subject was subsequently arrested and booked into the Lake County Corrections Facility on the warrant and escape in the third degree.

Thursday, June 11 – At 12:04 p.m. Steven Wyn Stewart, 23 of Stillwater Okla., was stopped for a traffic violation. Several drug trafficking observations were present. A consent search resulted in the discovery of $10,020. Stewart admitted to buying and selling marijuana commercially for profit. The money was seized as evidence. He was subsequently lodged in the Lake County Jail for PCS, DCS, MCS-Marijuana, Criminal Conspiracy and Money Laundering. Bail was set at $110,000.

Monday, June 15 – At 9:16 p.m., Jesus Antonio Ortiz Molina, 30, was stopped for a traffic violation for failure to drive in lane on Hwy 395 near mp 132 NB. Several criminal indicators were noted. Written consent to search, K9 alerted to the rear passenger door seam. Roadside search revealed about two pounds of meth from inside the natural void from the driver’s door. A search warrant on June 16, 2015 revealed a total of 21.9 pounds of meth, 15 total packages (including two from the day before) and 25.4 pounds of heroin, 18 packages.

Wednesday, June 24 — At 10:21 a.m., Justin R. Jordan, 35, was turning right into the Shell gas station parking lot. Kenneth Miochael Kozachenko, 27 of Burns, failed to yield and crashed into the back of Jordan’s vehicle, causing a minor injury. Kozachenko was cited for expired DMV tags.
Wednesday, June 24 — At 11:53 a.m., Gary E. Casteel, 74, was trying to pull out from Chandler Park onto Hwy 395 and was hit by a southbound vehicle on a blind corner. Hall Motor Company removed the vehicle.
